Mars Open House Extravanganza!

Welcome! If you're here, you are probably wondering about coming up for a visit. You don't know the hours, or you never even knew we had them? Well, no worries! Our Public Observatory is open Monday through Thursday, 7-9 PM so long as school is in session. Registration is never required, and there is never any fee. We hosted an open house to view Mars earlier this semester, and you can view the original announcement Here. Don't know where Villanova is, or where to go when you get here? Keep on scrolling down! But please remember - All observations are WEATHER DEPENDENT!

Whether you choose Planes, Trains, or Automobiles, the trip out to Villanova is quite simple and direct.

Directions to the Main Campus can be found here

The Observatory is located on the 4th Floor of Mendel Science Center.

If you are driving, the best place to park would be the "Spring Mill" lot. Turn north on Rt. 320 (Spring Mill Rd.) from Rt. 30 (Lancaster Ave.) and travel approximately 0.4 miles. Turn right immediately after crossing over the R-5 train tracks and proceed straight into the parking lot. You will want to park back towards the train station to be closest to the Mendel Science Center. Be sure that you DO NOT park in the separate SEPTA lot - they will tow your vehicle!

If you take SEPTA's R-5 train, the "Villanova" stop is directly north of the Mendel Science Center. If you are coming from the Philadelphia direction, simply walk through the tunnel under the tracks and the proper building will be in front of you.
